By posting free helpful content, you can provide a service for free and reach a lot of people. This is the first step to creating engaged leads.
This content (written, video, samples, presentations, podcasts, calls, etc.) solves a problem your ideal client has as a free service. It gives a taste of your paid services and show what it’s like to work with you. It builds trust and respect when done well and makes them want to pay to work with you. Lead magnets are also the best way to convert cold leads to email subscribers.
While larger businesses often have an entire sales team, small businesses cannot. But…you can use email marketing AS a digital sales team. Automated email sequences (think: welcome sequence to slowly keep a conversation going with new audience members or educational sequences to start building a relationship with warm leads) are a CRUCIAL part of your marketing system. Your email marketing will be the delivery system for your lead magnets as well as the place you get to engage 1-on-1 with warm leads.
A blog is simply a library of articles on your website. By providing this library of content you are able to answer hesitations or questions, educate and inspire people who might want to work with you, show your experience and expertise, give examples of how you solve their problem, and build SEO (help people find you through internet searches) by having lots of great keywords used throughout your website. When done well, a blog reads like a magazine that people can’t get enough of and gives people a reason to keep coming back to your site even when they aren’t quite ready to buy.
